TrustDefender & Dragonfly Technologies join forces in the fight against cyber crime

Sydney Australia, May 3, 2007 – TrustDefender and Dragonfly Technologies today announced the formation of a partnership to deliver the ‘next generation’ of online security solutions - Active Trust Protection (ATP) - which will enable the implementation of ‘on the fly’ risk assessments to assist in the selection of the most secure authentication method for online transactions.

“We are pleased to be able to announce the formation of a partnership between TrustDefender and Dragonfly Technologies which will offer yet another 'next generation' product - Active Trust Protection (ATP) - to our product suite,” commented Ted Egan, CEO of TrustDefender.

“This new offering will enable us to enhance the security that is currently provided by enterprises to their customers, in particular across the financial services industry, government agencies and for small, medium and large online businesses,” he added.

Active Trust Protection (ATP) offers a radically new way of combating the most sophisticated online fraud end-to-end and in doing so, protecting consumers’ identities.

The partnership between TrustDefender and Dragonfly Technologies was announced at a media event today.

The event highlighted the prevalence of online criminals who are continually exploiting the vulnerabilities that exist in the leading security solutions on the market today such as ID, password and multifactor security. Despite their vulnerabilities however, these solutions are still being deployed by enterprises around the world - particularly in the financial services industry and eGovernment sectors.

TrustDefender and Dragonfly Technologies claim that consumers and enterprises alike will continue to see this exploitation and subsequent identify theft continue until the endpoint or customer is integrated into the overall security chain of the enterprise whom the customer is conducting an online transaction with, i.e. the online business to customer transaction relationship.

“ATP is not just a fix to a flawed username/password authentication, it’s a flexible authentication scheme that performs an ‘on-the-fly’ risk assessment in order to choose the most secure authentication method, which is then combined with our leading endpoint-security suite,” added Mr Egan.

Dragonfly Technologies CEO, Branko Ninkovic was equally as enthusiastic about the new partnership agreement and their joint future fight against cyber crime.

"For Dragonfly Technologies, Active Trust Protection (ATP) is all about taking a quantum leap in online authentication and online, ‘on-the-fly’, risk based’ assessment. For the first time, consumers will be to transact online, safe in the knowledge that their identity and their user credentials, will not be compromised. We see TrustDefender as the next generation in end-point security. The strategic alignment between our two companies is a perfect fit in the fight against online crime.”
